Philip Lyle Bayer

BAYER Philip Lyle Bayer passed away at his home at the age of 59 on Thursday, November 15, 2007 after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kim Williams Bayer; two sons, Steven Lyle Bayer and his wife Julie, and Philip Steven Bayer; two step daughters, Leslie Elizabeth Cunningham and Lauren Marie Cunningham; his mother, Dorothy Mitchell Bayer and her husband, Peter Blaze Bayer; two sisters, Marie Sequeira Castro and her husband Ronald and Sandra Sequeira Allen and her husband William; five granddaughters, three nephews and one niece. Mr. Bayer was preceded in death by his father, Philip Steven Bayer; his step father, Louis Henry Sequeira; and his grandparents, Philip and Annabelle Bayer and Thomas and Minnie Mitchell. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Jefferson Parish, Mr. Bayer was a U. S. Marine, Vietnam Veteran, a Purple Heart Recipient, a Licensed First Class Engineer in the City of New Orleans since 1983 and Chief Engineer for the Audubon Nature Institute Aquarium of the Americas. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Memorial Funeral Mass. A Memorial Mass will be on Monday, November 18, 2007 at 1:15 pm with Visitation beginning at 11:00 at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street at N. Scott. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations sent in the memory of Philip Bayer to the Audubon Nature Institute, 6500 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70178, or the Louisiana SPCA, 1700 Mardi Gras Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70114, preferred.
