Ralph T. Andersen

ANDERSEN Ralph T. Andersen died on June 16, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. as a direct result of open heart surgery. Born on July 23, 1923 in New York, Ralph attended Columbia University, but left school to serve in the U.S. Navy as a pilot in World War II in the Pacific. He was a Geophysicist and worked in the petroleum industry, eventually operating his own geophysical company in Houma, La. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Constance Kearney Andersen; his second wife, Betty Ruiz Andersen; a son, Jan Eric Andersen; and his daughter, Pamela Gwen Andersen. He is survived by two daughters, Aimee C. Andersen and Andrea S. Andersen; his son, Hector Buzz Andersen (Susan Andersen); and several grandchildren: Valerie, Chris, and Ricky Rabalais; Andrew and Kori Rae Andersen. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and his companion, Alice Fields. We will celebrate his life on July 27, 2013 at his home with friends and family. At that time we will also mark the occasion of what would have been his 90th birthday, had he not followed imprudent advice given to him by people who viewed him as a statistic, and not as the man we all loved.
