Ralph Kennie Obituary

Mr. Ralph Joseph Kennie was the third child born to the late George E. and Betty C. Kennie on December 18, 1964 in New Orleans, LA. Survivors include his siblings, Reginald Kennie (Charlene), Derome Seals and Tamika Starks. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was reared in the Lower 9th ward, where he met and still had close friends. He worked as a chef in the finest restaurants in New Orleans for 35+ years. He could cook almost any food variety, but his favorites were New Orleans cuisine. Ralph attended Lawless Sr. High School. He absolutely loved fishing, cooking and the outdoors. He would call fishing his "Therapy." Ralph and his humor, fishing and cooking will surely be missed by those whose lives his path crossed. A Celebration service honoring the life of the late Mr. Ralph Joseph Kennie will be held at Bethel AME Church, 1437 Fats Domino Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117 on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11 a.m. Interment private. A Repass will follow in the church hall. For the health and safety of all, everyone in attendance is asked to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
