Ralph Turnow Obituary

Ralph G. Turnow, 89, of Parrish, Florida and formerly of Jerusalem Township, Ohio, died Saturday, September 29, 2007, in Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fla. Ralph was born in Curtice, Ohio on May 2, 1918, the son of Otto H. and Blanche C. (Ames) Turnow. He married Ethel R. Schumaker in Toledo, Ohio on February 10, 1945, and she preceded him in death on August 20, 2000. Ralph was a farmer his whole life, and a charter member of the Jerusalem Township Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bradenton, Fla., the Lucas County Farm Bureau and the Ohio Ag Marketing Assoc. In his free time he enjoyed playing softball and bowling. Survivors include his children, JoAnne (Jerry) Kelderman of Parrish, Fla., Donna (David) Frost, Curtice, James (Debra) Turnow, Bowling Green, Ohio, Paul (Caryl) Turnow, Roseau, Minn., and Janet (Gary) Berger, Grafton, N.D. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kelly Frost & Ken (Julie) Frost, both of Fremont, Ohio, Kyle Turnow, Bradner, Ohio, Chris Turnow, Tuscon, Ariz., Court Turnow, San Diego, Calif., Kory Turnow, Bowling Green, Ohio, Scott Turnow, Chandler, Ariz., Craig Turnow, Grand Forks, N.D., Jarrod Berger & Sara Berger, both of Grafton, N.D., and great grandchildren, Brianna Frost & Conner Frost, both of Fremont, Ohio, and his sisters, Margaret Bench of Curtice, Ohio and Kathryn Lumbrezer of Oregon, Ohio. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother Roland Turnow. Funeral services will be conducted at 11a.m., Saturday, October 6, 2007, in St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio, from 2-8p.m., Friday, October 5, 2007. Interment will be in the Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, Ohio. Memorial contributions given in Ralph's memory may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church or TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care both in Bradenton, Florida. I remember Ralph well. I played cards with him at the club house when I lived in The Gardens. He always liked to tease me. We were good friends. I can still remember his face. I know his family will miss him, but I am sure that God has received him with open arms.
