Randy Cone Obituary

Randy E. Cone, Professor of Management at the University of New Orleans, died on Saturday, June 22, 2002 in his residence after a short illness. He was 65. Dr. Cone was a native of DeKalb, IL, but lived in New Orleans, since 1976 and also in Thibodaux and Baton Rouge from 1967 - 1971. He was formerly on the faculty of the University of Texas at Austin as well as Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. He was a charter member of the Office Systems Research Association and was a long time member of the Association for the Business Communication. The author of numerous articles on business communication and business education. Dr. Cone was the first co-sponsor of UNO's student chapter of Administrative Management Society. He is survived by one half-sister: Mrs. Betty Marsh of Dekalb, two half-nieces Mrs. Lynn Frantum of DeKalb, Mrs. Susan (Jack) McFarland of Cortland, IL. His parents, Edwards F. and Ann Elizabeth Cone preceded him in death. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home with Pastor Kitty Ganzel, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Park Cemetery DeKalb. No Visitation. Memorials may be made to the family to be established at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to: Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home, 310 Oak St., DeKalb, IL. 60115. 815-758-3841

My condolences from Den Good jr. Lakefront n.o. remembering his words of wisdom ,Randi was a helpful friend , and inspiration ,from bus. Class to the coffee shop hangouts at lakefront and a smart business man. Sorry it took me so long to find out .sending prayers
