Regille Ruben LaVigne

1958 - 2023

Regille Ruben LaVigne was born on October 23, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois. He earned his heavenly wings on November 11, 2023, at the age of 65. He was the 3rd eldest son of the late Allen and Mary LaVigne. He was raised in the Lutheran faith. He lived in the Carrollton neighborhood for most of his life. Regille was educated in the Orleans Parish school system. He attended the former Fortier Senior High School before joining the United States Army. He served this country for 21 years. He was the father of 1 son, Travis LaVigne. He lived his life on his terms. He did not let his lack of sight get in his way of casting his vote. He leaves to mourn his beloved son, Travis LaVigne, four faithful brothers, Richard (Gilda), Sterling (Cynthia), Dechauon, Shawn (Kesha) LaVigne; three sisters, Monique (Larry) Thomas, Shannon (Randy) Maneau, and De'Anna (Arthur) Lawson. An Uncle and Godfather, Joseph Caldwell (Glendell), and Aunt Luella Gombako. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, great-grand niece, and his beloved dog. He was preceded in death by his parents Allen and Mary LaVigne, two brothers Ricky Allen and Rodney Allen LaVigne; and his bonus daughter Chinetha Porter. Family, friends, Pastors along with the ministry of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Deliverance Missionary Baptist Church, Watson Memorial Teaching Ministry, Mount Zion Methodist Church, Prince Hall Masonic family and employees of VA Hospital, Military Veterans, Harrah's Casino, Criminal District Court, La Madeleine & Winn Dixie are invited to attend the Celebration of Regille's Life on Monday, November 27, 2023, for 10:00 a.m. at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy. New Orleans, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Ronald Southall of Mount Zion Methodist Church, officiate. Interment will follow at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA.
