I met Dick in Munich, Germany, while serving with Hq Company, SACOM, in 1961. My best memories of our friendship are meeting up in New Orleans after we both left Germany, spending a week in N.O., then driving from N.O. to California in the Spring of 1964 in his Renault and a styrofoam ice chest always filled with Jax, Lonestar (or the local beer) on Highway 66. He was going to be stationed in Monterey at the Language School, and I was heading to Korea. "Beatlemania" was on the radio all the way! Then we met up again (for the last time) for a weekend in San Pedro, CA, in the summer of 1968. I was stationed at Camp Pendleton and was now in the Marine Corps - it was my last weekend stateside before shipping out for Vietnam. He was stationed at Ft MacArthur in Pedro. We had one last phone conversation in 2018. He was a great guy and a good friend who has always provided me with fond memories of our shared service time. Rest in peace
Richard.
