Richard Steiner Obituary

STEINER Richard Gayle Steiner passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at the age of 70. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 48 years Katherine Schilling Steiner. Loving and supportive father to Michele Jerrari, Patti Behr and Tiffany Beam. Dedicated father-in-law to Adil Jerrari, Joshua Behr and David Beam. Affectionate grandfather to Zakariah Jerrari, Abigail & Hannah Behr and Madison & Charlie Beam. He was preceded in death by his beloved Mother, Edith McCormick Steiner and his Father Oscar Hugo Steiner, and his grandparents Oscar George Steiner and Rose Gillenburg Steiner, kind hearted In-laws Sybil Bonnette Schilling & Rudolph Leon Schilling, and his best friend Justin "Charlie" Maitrejean. He was an Attorney and Ad Hoc Judge for Division A & B in Gretna, LA. He was a life time member of David Crockett Volunteer Fire department where he volunteered as Legal Counsel and fire fighter. He was a graduate of LSUNO and Tulane Law School. A native of New Orleans and resident of Gretna, LA. He was a member of Elks Lodge #2496 , Tau Kappa Epsilon and Phi Delta Phi Law Fraternity. A special thank you to Touro Home Health for the love and care they provided. A private family memorial service was held July 2, 2012.

My deepest condolences to all of you. Richard was my first mentor in the practice of law, when I "clerked" for him in the late 60's. He always had a calm wit about him. God be with him and the family.
