Robert France Obituary

FRANCE Robert E. France passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the age of 97. He was a resident of Whittier, CA for 41 years and returned to New Orleans for the past 7 years. Preceded in death by the love of his life for 72 years, Marie MacLean France, his parents, Laurel and Marie Caroline France, and granddaughter Laurel Elizabeth France. He is survived by his four sons, F. Michael France, Sr. (Sue), J. Peter France, R. Timothy France (Donna), and Bruce E. France, Sr. (Kermit), 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He was a 1936 graduate from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. He retired from Chevron after 30 years. He was a WWII Veteran and retired as a Colonel in the US Army Reserve. He and Marie were members of East Whittier Presbyterian Church in CA for 41 years and St. Charles Ave. Presbyterian Church during their residence in New Orleans. Greatdaddy as he was known to his loving children will be greatly missed. The family would like to express their thanks to St. Anna's Residence for their care. They would especially like to thank Jennifer Davis and JoAnn Spunizo for all the love and care they gave to Bob. A private service will be held in Golden, CO at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colorado School of Mines Foundation in memory of Robert E. France, P.O. Box 4005 Golden, CO 80402.
