Robert Joseph Kinler

Robert Joseph Kinler, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 22, 2017 at the age of 75. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Edith Kinler; and brother, Gerard Kinler. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Mayeux Kinler; daughters, Kelli Gustafson (Jon) and Konni Larue (Chris); sons, Douglas Kinler (Monique) and Brian Kinler (Steven Parker); grandchildren, Lindsay and Annie Gustafson, Jack and Clay Kinler, Gabe, Colby, and Bray Larue; and sister, Susan Marie Kinler. Bob is a native New Orleanian, attended St. Matthias Elementary School, Jesuit High School, Loyola University, and Loyola Law School. He spent his career as a landman for Chevron Oil and as president of the Downman's Companies. He was a former member of the Louisiana State Mineral Board, Louisiana Landman's Association, and Louisiana State Bar Association. Bob was an avid sports fan, faithfully following Jesuit Blue Jays, LSU Tigers, and New Orleans Saints. Bob loved music, and his house was always filled with sounds of his wife playing piano and his kids and grandkids singing and dancing along. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 9 AM.
