Growing up in M A Green Subdivision our families were neighbors, we all attended school together. I remember your dad as a young father only as we know the dad's of our close friends. We all attended St Mary Magdalen School. We had so much fun growing up. I did not know your dad was a Pearl Harbor survivor but now that I do know I will forever remember his sacrifice, and will keep him in my prayers for all who have served our country and presently serve. Thinking of your family ... Laurie Fontenelle Abate

Mr. Templet, until recently, was one of our healthiest survivors. We recently paid our respects to another deceased survivor. My sister Debra and I said our prayers for members of the PHSA. Mr. Templet and his daughter, Dorothy, was also there. After our prayers Mr. Templet approached the casket, said goodbye to his comrade and gave him a final salute. The entire room was moved. After the ceremony, Mr. Templet was visibly shaken, stressing to me and my sister how few of the survivors were left. This we already knew and always feel privileged each and every time we are in their presents.
When I started going to survivor's funerals with my dad, there would be a large group of survivors. I watched the group dwindled away. They have a very special bond.
Mr. Templet, his wife and their entire family are such wonderful people. My prayers are with them as I know what they are going through.

It is with great sadness that I send my condolences for the passing our outstanding president of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.
It saddens me even more that I am out of town at this time and will not be unable to say my fond farewell to dear Mr. Templet.
What a wonderful day it must have been in heaven on the day of his passing. Not only his family and friends who have gone before him greeted him, but all of his shipmates and fellow Pearl Harbor Survivors have been awaiting this marvelous reunion.
He was a constant presence at all of our meetings and memorials and had a perpetual smile on his face. That is what I will always remember.
Our organization was so much richer for having him as our president and will be so much the poorer without him.
I am thankful and happy that I had the opportunity to know him and his loving family. ALOHA, Mr. Templet
