Roy Cosse' Obituary
COSSE' Roy Edward Cosse', Sr., age 81 years, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at Maison de Lafayette. Mr. Cosse' the son of the late Frank Edward Cosse' and the former Maud Bachemin, was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Lafayette, LA for over 50 years. Roy worked for Amoco Oil as a sales representative for over 34 years and the Daily Iberian for over 13 years in sales, and served the Coast Guard as a gunner serving in the Pacific Theatre during WWII from 1941-1945. Mr. Cosse' was an avid sports fan, faithful Tulane Greenwave Fan, was a season ticket holder for the Sugar Bowl, a catcher on Holy Rosary C.Y.O. Baseball Team under Father Moore, a power hitter for St. Aloysius baseball team, and a member of Johnny Golden Athletics. He was a founding parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and a dedicated member of the Fatima Warrior Booster Club. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include: his son, Roy Cosse' Jr. and wife Lily of Houston, TX; two daughters: Susie Arsement and husband Chris of Lafayette and Karen Semons and husband William of Lafayette; grandchildren: Valerie Lacy and husband Denny, Drew Cosse', Jesse Greene II and wife Kim, Jared Arsement, Jacob Arsement, William Semons II, Angella Semons, Stephanie Semons; and great-granddaughter, Amalie Greene. He was preceded in death by: his parents; first wife, Doris Montelepre Cosse'; second wife, Sue Henri Cosse'; sister, Sr. Jerome Dorothy Cosse'; and son, Baby Michael Cosse'. Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, January 13, 2004 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. Interment will take place at 2:00 PM Thursday at St. Louis Cemetery in New Orleans, LA. Rev. Keith LaBove, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and will continue on Thursday from 8:30 am until the time of service. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm Wednesday. Pallbearers will be: Chris Arsement, William Semons, Jesse Greene II, Jared Arsement, Jacob Arsement, William Semons II, and Denny Lacy. Honorary pallbearer will be Drew Cosse'. DELHOMME FUNERAL HOME, 1011 Bertrand Drive, is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
