HARDY Russell E. Hardy (The Rock), of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Northshore Regional Medical Center. Beloved husband of Josetta "Josie" Hardy for 46 years. Father of Darrell and Mary L. Hardy, Donald and Ellie T. Hardy, Jeffrey and Ashley Hardy and Susan and Gerard Arieux. Son and step-son of the late Ernest Hardy, Sr., Dora Miraglia, Nick Miraglia and Betty Hardy. Brother of Ernest Hardy, Jr., Russell Hardy, Arthur Hardy, Ann Hardy, Janet Williams and Barbara Judge. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, Donald Hardy, Jr., Linsey Hardy, Beau Arieux, Ashton Arieux, Olivia Hardy, Brandon Hardy, Ethan Hardy, Isabella Hardy and Rebecca Hardy (due 03-31-09). Age 69 years; a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell for the past 42 years, Mr. Hardy was a retired Firefighter for the Michoud Assembly Center in New Orleans. He served his country in the US Navy and was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Slidell. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 325 Westchester Blvd., Slidell, LA, on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 12:00pm. Visitation will be at church from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Slidell, LA.
