My first impression of "Uncle Sammy" and "Aunt Nola" when I first met them over 8 years ago is just how warm and kind and loving they both are and how they just seemed to enjoy life. What a blessing for Pam, Missy, Sammy and Meeka to have had such a great man as a father.
On New Years Eve Missy talked about taking a ride with her Dad, Mom and Sammy, Jr. one evening that week. She talked about how her dad sang a song that night in the car. Pam, Missy, Sammy and Meeka, please keep these memories in your heart and know that he will always be there.

All of you have my deepest sympathy on the passing of Mr. Sammy. My memories of Mr. Sammy go back to that of a very little girl going into the bank on Fourth St. in Westwego and opening my very first savings account. Even as a small girl, I remember thinking Mr. Sammy was a very handsome man! Over the years I came to know him as a wonderful business associate of my father and our family. I learned that his looks were nothing compared to his friendliness, helpfulness, and always having a kind gesture to those around him. My last time seeing him and Ms. Nola was at the Italian-American Society St. Joseph's Day celebration with my brother and sister many years back and even though he was showing some age, I recognized him right away. Mr. Sammy was the kind of man, with shoes way too large to fill! He was a husband and father to be very proud of. My world is a little sadder today because of his passing. May God bless you and keep you in His loving arms.
