AMATO Samuel P. Amato, age 87, died on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 8:25 AM. Beloved husband of Leah Cuccia. Father of Karen A. Booth and Samuel P. Amato, Jr. Son of the late Samuel P. Amato and Lena Pravata Amato. Brother of Mary Ann Bourgeois, Johanna Simoneaux, Gloria Ciaccio, William (Billy) Neuburger, and the late Russell Amato and Joseph Amato. Grandfather of Jaime Lozier, Danielle, Jeremy, and Joshua Amato. Born in Slidell, LA, Mr. Amato was a longtime resident of Arabi, LA. He was a member of AARP, and proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon. The Funeral Mass will begin at 12 Noon followed by burial in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, New Orleans Chapter, or Masses in memory of Mr. Samuel P. Amato will be appreciated.
