MARTIN Samuel "Sam" "Boy" Martin, Jr., a retired truck driver, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 3:29 a.m. at Louisiana Specialty Hospital. He was 63. Mr. Martin was born in Frisco, La. Loving son of August Samuel Martin, Sr. and the late Mary J. Batiste Martin. Loving father of Derrick S., Donna M., Debra A., Desmond S. Sr. (Ronnika), and Dominque M. Martin. Stepfather of Orlando Williams. Grandfather of Destiny, Diamond and Desmond S. Jr. Proud brother of Lillie-Mae M. Lang (Nolan), Alerion A. Martin, Gabriel Martin all of Baton Rouge, La. Extended siblings: Demetrius M. Wilson (Leroy), Clinton Overton (Tawanda), Ricky J. Overton (Debra), Sheldon J. Martin (Julia), and Jamie T. Martin all of Baton Rouge, La. Loving devoted companion Marilyn Williams. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, priest and parishioners of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and pastors, officers and members of Household of Faith and all neighboring churches; employees of Ekco and Glaco, Rollins Trucking Co., Holliston Crane Service, Securitas Security Service, Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's Office, Tarrant County Sheriff's Office of Forth Worth, Texas, National Construction Rental, Hilton N.O. Riverside, Orleans Parish Office of Public Health, Davita Dialysis Center, Tulane Medical Transplant, Louisiana Specialty Hospital and Nurses Registry Home Health are invited to attend the Funeral Service from Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 W. B. Expressway, Marrero, La. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. Deacon Lawrence Houston of St. Peter Claver - Celebrant. (NO WAKE). Visitation from 12:00 noon until service time.
