Samuel Riley, Jr. entered eternal rest on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the age of 50. Samuel, Jr. was born on July 28, 1973. He was the son of Samuel Riley, Sr, and the late Gladys Encalade. The grandson of the late Harriet and Nelson Encalade, Sr. and Addie and John Riley, Sr. Samuel, Jr. was the brother of Mickerria (Trenille) Bentley. He was the father of DaJuan Riley and the bonus brother of Saindra (Marlon) Arnold and Jerome (Tarenda) Miller. The nephew of Johnetta (Roosevelt) Jarrell, Almena (Errol) Trufant, Amelia Chaisson, Rev. John (Marsha) Riley, Jr., the late Nelson (Leollia) Encalade, Jr., Shirley Mae (Aaron) Green, Gloria Mae (Wallace) Picquet, Sr., Geraldine (Irvin) Riley, Lawrence (Carolyn) Encalade, and Peter Encalade. He was the Godson of the late Lawrence and Carolyn Encalade. Samuel, Jr. graduated from Phoenix High School in 1991. He was the uncle of Tre'Anjalique Bentley, Allegra Bentley, Isaiah Manuel-Bentley, and MicKyren Bentley. The great-uncle of Khazier Berry, Noelle, Jay, and Jai'Lynn Hudson. On August 4, 2020, Samuel, Jr. married Elisa Ginn-Riley. He was the son-in-law of Tim Motton and Ellanore Mae Veal. The brother-in-law of Trenille Bentley, Tennile Rachelle (Charles) Handy, Ernestine Veal, Owen and Val Ginn and the late Ellanore and Linda Veal. Samuel, Jr. was the Godfather of Isaiah Manuel-Bentley. He was affectionally known as "Poopie", "Turk" and "Rilo". He was the best friend of Corey Simpson, Sr., Darryl Miller, Jerome Miller and Arwin Simeon. He was previously employed by the Grain Elevator. He was a loving, caring and passionate person. Samuel, Jr. was preceded in death by his loving mother, Gladys Encalade, grandparents Harriet and Nelson Encalade, Sr., Addie and John Riley, Sr., aunts Shirley Mae Encalade-Green, Gloria Mae Encalade-Picquet, and Geraldine Encalade-Riley, uncles Lawrence, Peter and Nelson Encalade, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving father, Samuel Riley, Sr., dedicated sister Mickerria Bentley, brother-in-law, Trenille Bentley, loving son, DaJuan Riley, wife, Elisa, nieces Tre'Anjalique and Allegra Bentley, nephews Isaiah Manuel-Bentley and MicKyren Bentley, great-nephews Khazier Berry and Jay Hudson and great-nieces, Noelle, and Jai'Lynn Hudson. Uncle, Rev. John Riley, Jr., Aunts Leollia, Johnetta, Almena, Amelia and Marsha, bonus siblings Saindra and Jerome and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service which will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church Ministry of Life located at 7047 Hwy 39 Bertandville, LA 70040.
