Sean Patrick Brady

Sean Patrick Brady, beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, and colleague, left this earth on December 17, 2023. He was 45 years old. Sean was raised in Metairie and Memphis. He returned to Louisiana to attend undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University, graduating in 2000. He earned his law degree, Magna Cum Laude, at Tulane Law School in 2006, where he was the Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review. In the fourth grade, he announced to his class that he wanted to be an attorney in order to "defend people." And he did so. At the time of his tragic death, he was a partner in the law firm Flanagan Partners LLP, where he was deeply loved and respected for his intelligence and work ethic. The legal community recognized his brilliance, awarding him the designation of one the Best Lawyers of America and a "Super Lawyer." Sean was even better known as a man of impeccable honor, who combined his extreme intellectual talent with empathy, compassion, and mentoring. One of his last acts as a lawyer was to insist on a full recovery of damages for a family of modest means he represented for no fee. Sean will be best remembered as a loving husband of 15 years to Amanda Allbritton Brady, and dedicated father to his three wonderful children, Lillian (12), Henry (10), and Silas (7). Sean and Henry enjoyed six years of Cub Scouts, and he was an enthusiastic sideline fan at Silas's soccer games. He took great pride in teaching Lily how to play music by ear. He was a talented, self-taught guitar player, an avid Phish fan, and loved playing live music with friends he adored over the years. He dreamed of having a family band and passed on his love of music to his children. All of the children play instruments and will carry on his admiration of the Beatles. His other great hobby was cooking. He showed his love by feeding family and friends and was renowned for his delicious biscuits. He especially loved sharing this passion with his children, drafting them as sous chefs in his kitchen. Stories abound of Sean's dedication to family and friends and his steadfast reliability, from loading up his two elderly grandmothers in a rental van and driving them out of the city to evacuate from a hurricane, to his unwavering support of his parents through illness. This quality drew Amanda from the start, and he lived up to it every day of their marriage. Aside from his immediate family, he also leaves behind his parents, Patrick and Holly Castaing Brady of Covington, brother Matthew Brady, his wife Lindsey, and his nephews John and Robert, all of Knoxville, TN; brother Kyle Brady of Metairie; uncle Louis Castaing of Covington, uncle Thomas Brady and his wife Jane of Covington, and aunt Bonnie Brady Behrens and her husband Peter of Troy, MI. He is also survived by his cousins, Dawn Brady Whitney and husband Neil, and Scott Brady. The crushing blow of his too-soon passing will be felt not only by his cherished family, friends, and colleagues, but the entire legal community in the New Orleans area. A wake will be held at St. Timothy on the North Shore in Mandeville on Tuesday, December 26th, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass in celebration of Sean's life will be held on Wednesday afternoon, December 27th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans with visitation starting at 11:00 in the morning and graveside service to follow.
