Have her picture with children on my picture board. See her smiling face every day and remember what a warm, loving friend she was for over 60 years.

Sherry was a friend for over 60 years. Met her at NAS Millington, TN while she was visiting George and Betty. She was 14 and I was 16. We went to see her first Elvis movie at the Malco Theater in Memphis. She was loved, respected and will be missed. Do as I and cherish the good memories of your mom. Rudgil Britton Pitts, Decatur, AL

Mrs Kraus was my 6th grade teacher at St Anthony´s in Gretna in 1969. I was a transfer student, so I wouldn´t know a soul there. About 3 days before school started, my cousin hit me in the face with a golf club, resulting in the most spectacular black eye imaginable. It covered almost the entire left side of my face. I was already shy and insecure, and now I had to show up at a new school looking like this! So, on the first day of school I accidentally on purpose missed the bus, so my mom made me walk, and, naturally, I was late. I knocked on the classroom door and Mrs Kraus opened it, took one look at me, and swooped me up into her arms. She asked, "Who did this to you!" I tried to explain, but she was having none of it. She said, "Are you trying to protect someone? Don´t you lie to me! Tell me the truth and I swear to God I´ll put a stop to it right now!" I finally convinced her that it truly was an accident, but it wasn´t easy. Fast forward about 25 years, and I´m in the check out line at a pizza place in Belle Chasse, when I hear this sweet voice behind me that I immediately recognized. I turned around and there she was, the same sweet smile and kind eyes. I asked if she was Mrs Kraus and she said "Oh Lord! Please don´t tell me you were one of my students!" When I related the black eye story, her eyes flew open and she said "I remember that! I was about to go to the office and call the police!" Sharon Kraus was the epitome of what a teacher should be. May God bless and keep her.

Your mom put a smile on hundred´s of children faces (and adults too). I worked with your mom at St Joseph, in Gretna back in the 80´s. As she would cross the students from the school building to the gym building the students would beg for her to do her Mickey Mouse voice. Everyone loved your mom. Prayers for your comfort and strength.
