Sidney Edward "Ripp" Haines

Sidney Edward ""Ripp'' Haines. Our beloved Sidney fell asleep in death on December 17, 2005 Sidney was born September 14, 1919 to the late Octavia Malone. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Eloise Powell, aunts and uncles. He was raised in Pearlington, Mississippi. After his mother died when he was a young lad, he was raised by his aunts Viola Malone of Pearlington and Gracie M. Bell of New Orleans. He was a WWII veteran who served and was wounded in ""The Battle of the Bulge.'' After the war and vocational training, he started Haines' Salvage Company, and married his late wife, Vivian A. Haines. His business evolved to what was a familiar auto repair business in Slidell, ""Haines' Auto Parts and Repair�. During the later years of retirement, he was drawn to Bible study with the Jehovah's Witness organization, and was progressing toward dedication of his life to Jehovah. Sidney is survived by his sons Gregory E. Haines and Lucien Daniels; grandchildren Simon and Tabitha Haines; Stacy Bradley; Roderick and Desmond Daniels; Daughters-in-law Wendy Haines and Evelyn Daniels; Three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held for Sidney on Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at the Kingdom Hall for the Jehovah's Witnesses West and Lakewood Congregations located at 1475 Fremaux Avenue, Slidell, La. 70458. A private family internment shall follow the Memorial Service at the Pearlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Jehovah's Witnesses Disaster Relief fund at the above address. Sidney will be dearly missed.
