Sylvester Reed Obituary

Sylvester Reed, Jr., a veteran of the United States Army, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 12, 2021 at the age of 77. A native New Orleanian, born to the late Sylvester Reed, Sr. and Clara Johnson Reed, Mr. Reed was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and attended S.U.N.O. Sylvester retired from Bunny Bread as an owner-operator. He is survived by his daughter, Dionne Franklin and stepson, Derek Lockett, Sr. (Gwendolyn) five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends. A funeral service honoring the life of Mr. Sylvester Reed, Jr. will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Family Services, 4917 E. Judge Perez Drive, Violet, LA 70092 on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 11 am, Pastor Michael Jiles, officiating. Visitation 9 am in the chapel. Interment will take place on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 10 am in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, seating in the chapel is limited. Everyone in attendance is required to adhere to all restrictions. You must wear a face mask and practice social distancing at all times. Please sign online guestbook at www.charbonnetfuneralhome.com.
