Theresa Terracina Eckert

ECKERT Theresa Terracina Eckert, 93, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 2:45 A.M. She was the wife of the late Walter J. Eckert and the daughter of the late Rosa Vicknair and Anthony Terracina. She was the sister of the late Rosalie L. Landry, Chester J. Terracina. She was the loving mother of Brian J. Eckert, and Starr E. Dimpfel, the grandmother of Frederick, VI, Alexander, Theresa, and Dominick and the sister-in-law of Althea O. Gilmore. She was the aunt of Ann Landry Fryou, Patricia Terracina Nielsen, Adrian and Byron Landry and many great nieces and great nephews. She was a resident of Gretna and she retired from the Jefferson Parish School Board 37 years ago at the age of 55. She was a life member of the VFW and Marine Corp League, AARP, and the State and local LRTA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at which time a Prayer Service will be held in the Parlor of WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, MARRERO, LA. Burial will then follow in Hook and Ladder Cemetery in Gretna. Condolences may be offered online at www.westsideleitzeagan.com. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred.
