Just heard about cousin Tommy. I´m so sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family. My fondest memories were of the races from NOLA, Mississippi and Florida and driving my brother to meet him to be part of his crew. He was a wonderful, good man.

"Uncle" Tom was the Best Man at my parents´ wedding at St. Louis Cathedral in 1957. My dad met Tom in 1952 when he joined Ethyl, and they had many common interests, including sailing and an affection for the Mississippi gulf coast. Tom was a frequent guest in my childhood home in Baton Rouge, but I developed a closer relationship with him during my college years at Loyola in the early 1980s. I had a standing invitation to come for dinner with him and his mother on Saturday evenings; I just had to meet him in front of Holy Name of Jesus when the vigil mass ended and ride back to Pine Street. I usually joined them about once a month while I was living on campus. He taught me how to make an Old Fashioned (7 dashes of Peychaud, 1 dash of Angostura, and the more muddling, the better!) and we stayed in touch over all of these years. We had poboys and Old Fashioneds at his house in March 2023 when I was celebrating my 60th birthday in New Orleans. Thank you, Dominic, for helping him to be able to stay in his home, and my condolences to all his family and friends.

Uncle Tommy was a part of my life my WHOLE life. I loved gathering at his house when I was home. Bringing poorboys and drinking a bunch of bourbon and chatting, remembering, telling stories, most of all...laughing! Glad we had one just a few months before he passed. And, we had long chats on my way to work. Had one with him 2 weeks before he passed. Gonna miss those times!

So sorry to just see this. He was a long time friend of my parents & worked with my dad at Ethyl. Thoughts and prayers with his family.
