Thomas Doody Obituary

Doody, Thomas Joseph Jr., passed away after a brief illness at Canon Healthcare Hospice on Tuesday 22, 2015, 3:25 am, age 66. He was a native of New Orleans, LA, and a resident of Metairie, LA. He was the beloved son of the late Thomas J. Doody Sr. and Catherine Rittinger Doody. Brother of Kenneth Doody (Elvira), Cynthia D. Spence (Matthew), Charlotte D. Walker (Wayne) and the late Carolyn Doody and Michael Doody. Thomas was the uncle of Christopher Doody, Major Wayne Walker Jr. (Gloria), Timothy Walker (Kyra), Julie W. Rose (Will) and Elizabeth Spence, and the great uncle of Morgan Walker, Kenlee Walker, and Rylee and Avery Rose. Thomas retired from the U.S. Army after serving his country for 20 years (1971-1991). Thomas will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday September 26, 2015, from 9:30 am to 11 am and Funeral Mass from St. Christopher Catholic Church at 11 am, 3900 Derbigny St., Metairie, LA. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery. Masses at St. Christopher Church preferred, (send requests to: 309 Manson Ave., Metairie, LA 70001). Or donations may be made to the charity of your choice. LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA in charge of arrangements. Tommy, thanks for being the best big brother anyone could ask for. I will miss your sense of humor and some of the funniest cards for special occasions you would always send, but most of all I will miss you. Family get togethers will never be the same. I love you Tommy and hope to see you again someday, but not too soon.
