Vanessa Evans

1954 - 2021

Vanessa Evans (December 10, 1954 – December 2, 2020) entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at the age of 65 – 8 days short of her 66th birthday. Vanessa was the oldest daughter of Naomi Lucas Evans Lenaris and the late James E Evans, Jr. She is survived by her mother Naomi Lenaris, siblings James E Evans, III, Cheryl Ann Evans, Anthony Lucas, Lloyd Lucas, and Richard Lucas. Also survived by her sister-in-law, Sandra Lucas, nephews Lloyd Lawrence Lucas and Richard Brandon Lucas, great nieces Kannen Lucas, Taraji Lucas and Jade Lucas, great nephew Richard Brandon Lucas, Jr, and devoted friends Donna Lucas Green, Cynthia Parker Davis, Carmen Parker, Wanda Parker White, Cynthia Parker Barnes and Trudy Allen Marshall. She attended John McDonogh Senior High School and was a dedicated alum. She was a dedicated employee to K&B, Rite Aid and Walgreens Pharmacy with a strong work ethic. She won many prestigious awards for Employee of the Month and Employee of The Year with K&B and Rite Aid. Her favorite past time was watching the NBA and pro football with a fixation on Kobe Bryant and L.A. Lakers, San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots. Vanessa enjoyed the company of her family and good friends. Vanessa had a huge heart and sense of humor that could brighten your day. A party didn't start until she arrived. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. An invitation only celebration of life for Vanessa will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, 2 pm at NOLA Palms Event Hall, 5961 Bullard Ave., Suite #9. You must wear a mask at all times and practice social distancing.
