VanNorman Bailey Obituary

VanNorman Bailey, age 88, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie for the past 58 years, died on October 25, 2005, at the home of his daughter, Deborah Bailey Probst, in Springfield, Louisiana; married to Frances Lucas, who preceded him in death, then married to Barbara Becker, who survives him. The son of the late Charles Bailey and Agnes VanNorman Bailey. He is survived by his three daughters, Webster Bailey Rhodes, Deborah Bailey Probst and Susan Bailey Deano; grandchildren; Terry St. Germain, Lorin St. Germain Guillard, and Scott Intravia and great grandchildren; Scott, Sierre, Savannah, Spencer, Intravia and Bridget St. Germain. Mr. Bailey graduated from Jesuit High School and Loyola University. He served as Captain in the United States Air Corp., flying B-24 bombers during World War II, where he participated in the attacks at Polesti and Anzio. He retired as a chief sales representative of Brown and Bigelow after over 57 years with the firm. He was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Parish. A Christian burial mass is planned for Saturday, October 29, 2005 at St. Francis Xavier Church at 444 Metairie Road. Visitation begins at 12:30 PM followed by a mass at 1:30 PM. BAGNELL AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.

Hi Barbara, Just wanted to let you know that I am so sorry to hear about Van's death. I hope you are doing ok through all of this. May God Bless You and Your family (My house in Met was ok, but I am working in Houston until Chevron goes back to CBD.) Much love, Lynn

We're now living in Spanish Fort,AL.

Our home on Cherlyn Drive flooded badly. Happened to see of Van's death by accident--hope he did not suffer and that all of you will find

consolation.
