Verna Williams Obituary

Verna Bass Williams passed away on January 10, 2022, at the age of 45. She was born in New Orleans on February 9, 1976. Verna is survived by her mother, Elsie Bass Soutullo and her stepfather Don Soutullo, as well as her brothers, Ricky Bass, Terrance Krolowitz, and Paul Krolowitz. She also leaves behind her nephews, Ricky Bass Jr and Bryce Allemand, and her niece Haley Bass, along with the many uncles, aunts, and cousins of the Bass family. Verna was well known for and loved by her family and friends for her kind and generous spirit, and her eager willingness to help others even if it was at great cost to herself. Verna worked in the hospitality industry in New Orleans most of her adult life and was well known and valued for her unwavering hard work, management abilities, and style. In recent years, Verna realized one of her long-held dreams when she became the owner of her own restaurant, known as Rouge Rabbit, located in Baton Rouge. Verna will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A funeral service and a memorial were held in Verna's honor on Thursday evening, January 20th, 2022, at Mothe Funeral Home in Harvey, La.
