Vernon J. Sincere Sr.

1957 - 2023

Vernon J. Sincere Sr., at the age of 66, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 11, 2023. Vernon was born on January 2, 1957 as the first of two boys for the late Richard J. Sincere and Gwendolyn Bell Sincere. Vernon leaves the following to cherish his loving memory; His loving wife Gina Blanks Sincere, Son Vernon J. Sincere Jr. (Miesha), Daughter Sharrell Marie Sincere Quiroz (Andrew), Grandchildren Vernon J. Sincere III and Grayson Anthony Quiroz, brother Brian R. Sincere Sr., brother-in-law Gerald Anthony Blanks Sr. (Tangia), Uncle Walter Bell (Connie), Aunts Della Bell Ellison, Helen Bell Jefferson, and Margaret Sincere. Nieces and nephews, Ricky Bridges, Arlett Bridges, Brian R. Sincere Jr., Brennan M. Sincere, Beth Sincere (Marlon), Baylor Sincere, Breeze Sincere, Sheeka Johnson, Gerlana Reddick,Tanika Reddick, Recco Johnson, Geralle Blanks-Stovall (Sean), Gerzelle Blanks, and Gerald A. Blanks Jr. Vernon was also preceded in death by his nephew Byron I. Sincere. Vernon at a very young age showed a desire to work on cars which was developed and nurtured in the 12th ward at a place we called "The Shop". This love for working on cars turned him into a Master Mechanic whose knowledge of vehicles was unmatched in the city of New Orleans. Vernon was educated in the New Orleans Public School system, before he began work at Southern Baptist Hospital, later retiring after 31 years of service with the City of New Orleans, as a New Orleans Police Corrections Officer and Senior Equipment Operator. He always maintained his own mechanic business during his career, which he continued until the time of his untimely death. Family, friends, employees of the New Orleans Police Department, Tulane University Medical Center, and Ochsner Medical Center are invited to attend the homegoing celebration on Friday, February 17, 2023, at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church located at 3500 Ames Blvd. Marrero, La. 70072.
