W. Earl Windom

W. Earl Windom passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Tulane University Hospital following complications resulting from a fall in April. Earl was predeceased by his father, Willie Alexander Windom. He is survived by his mother, Mary Hyatt Windom; his wife of 39 years, Willette Koll Windom, his two daughters, Michelle Windom Burks and Christine Hyatt Windom; his son-in-law, Dr. Christopher Alan Burks; his three grandsons, Grayson William Burks, Cooper Alan Burks and Maxwell Robert Burks; his brother, Olan Windom, his sister, Sharon Windom Bustin; his sister-in-law, Laurel Koll Bell Halliday; his brother-in-law, Radford Bustin; his nephews, Christopher Osborn Bell and Scott Alexander Windom, and his niece, Mariele Salaun Bell. Earl was a native of New Orleans and a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. He was valedictorian of his high school class, graduate of LSU School of Electrical Engineering, and was one of the founders, and former owners of the engineering firm Electronic Design. His years of hard work and diligence were rewarded with a successful business though too few years of a restful retirement. Deceased at the age of 68, his integrity and wisdom will be missed by his family and friends but the love remains.The private funeral will be directed by Jacob Schoen & Schoen Funeral Home with burial at Old Bogue Falaya Cemetery in Martinsville, St. Tammany Parish.
