Walter Powell Obituary

POWELL Walter E. Powell, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2004, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital due to complications from surgery. He is survived by: his loving wife, Mrs. Needra Powell; his son, Bob Powell and wife, Rose of Denver, CO; his daughter, Luanna Frey and husband, Shawn of Chicago, IL; his daughter, Tiffany Neely; his step-daughter, Terri Jones and husband, Ken; his step-daughter, Lynn Holman; his step-son, Phil Neely, Jr. and wife, Colleen; and his sister, Pat Gilmore and husband, Dennis of Denver, CO. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Jacque, Zack, Charles, Abby and Sydney, and also numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Powell is preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Mary K. Powell of Denver, CO. Mr. Powell was a Past Master of Liberty Lodge No. 134 A.F.&A.M. in Denver, CO, he was a member of the Scottish Rite Contennial Lodge of Perfection in Denver, CO and Past Guardian of Jobs Daughters Bethel 21 in Evergreen, CO. He was a retired Project Manager for Lockeed Martin in New Orleans, LA and a former General Contractor for Powell and Son Construction Co. in Denver, CO. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the FuneralServices at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Monday, April 5, 2004 at 10:00 A.M.Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.Visitation on Sunday evening from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and on Monday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time. Donations may be made in honor of Mr. Powell to the American Heart Assoc. Southeast Affiliate, Inc., P.O. Box 159, Destrehan, LA 70047-0159, The American Diabetes Assoc. (Louisiana Division), P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, OH, 44720 or flowers may be sent. Arrangements by HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, INC., Slidell, LA.
