Will Samuels, co-founder of King Cake Hub, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the age of 52. A native and proud New Orleanian, Will was born to Madilyn and Alvin Samuels on June 7, 1969. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Jennifer Samuels; his daughter, Livia Samuels; sister, Melanie Samuels; his brothers, Mark Samuels (Kara) and Greg Samuels; 2 nieces and 6 nephews. A notable figure in New Orleans and proclaimed, "King Cake Baron," Will co-founded the King Cake Hub. Will had an infectious love for his city, especially Carnival: from the costumes to the live music. He was a devout member in the New Orleans Jewish Community, serving on the board of Shir Chadash Synagogue for almost 20 years. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Ochsner and to Rabbi Silver of Shir Chadash. Relatives and friends are invited to the memorial service to be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. When I would visit Shir Chadash synagogue, I was always happy to see Will. When I moved to New Orleans as a seventh grader, I have fun memories as Will running around , aka "Greg´s little brother." He was wonderful man And such a strong figure in the synagogue. May his memory be a blessing.
