William Meyer Obituary

MEYER William Ernst Meyer, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the age of 73. A native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Franklinton, LA. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois LaDonice Creel Meyer of 38 years; daughter, Marcia Lyons Arcen-eaux and son-in-law Brennan Arceneaux; four grandchildren: Bridget Lyons, Jonathan Lyons, Miles Lyons and Luc Arceneaux; future grandson-in-law, Andrew Zeringue; his sister, Louise Rusich and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: William Ernst Meyer, Sr. and Adeline O'Dowd Meyer of New Orleans; four brothers: Francis Meyer, Milton Meyer, Elliot Meyer, Michael Meyer; and one sister, Adeline Borgstede. William served in the United States Army for eleven years and was a retired employee of Loubat Restaurant and Supply Co. He spent over 28 years working in the restaurant supply industry in New Orleans. He also donated his time to the Franklinton High School Band Boosters for whom he served as president for over seven years. He enjoyed spending his retirement years at home with his wife and grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1318 Bickham Street, Franklinton, LA 70438 on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held at Church from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Arrangements by Bagnell & Son Funeral Home of Covington, LA. Donnie - We always enjoyed Bill's company. He had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. Also, he was a great salesman. We will all miss him.
