William Frederick Woessner Jr., at the age of 82, entered eternal rest peacefully on Sunday morning, November 27, 2022, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 26, 1940 to William Frederick Woessner Sr., and Rita Newman Woessner. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn Adams Woessner. William was Dad to his adoring children, Billy Woessner, Donna Jenkins and Shawn Woessner (Misty). William was the proud Paw Paw to Alyssa Woessner, Taylor Taylor (Matthew), Danielle Lombardo (Vincent), Reed Woessner (Talitha), Baylè Beermann (Cyrus), Brianna Woessner (Collin), Cody Woessner, Kolbie Woessner, and Chase Woessner. He was Poppy to Landyn, Liam, Kinsleigh, Mila, Brody, Vincent, Eliana, Everett, Rowyn, Lennon, Mason and Adalie. William was preceded in death by his parents and loving brother, Warren Woessner. William will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends. A native of New Orleans, and proud resident of Covington for over 51 years, William graduated from East Jefferson High School, in 1959. William began his professional career as a wholesaler in 1975 and was very successful. He was well liked and respected by all. William was a devoted member to the Covington Lions Club since 1992. He held numerous offices and positions in the Covington Club as well as District and State. William earned many distinguishing awards including Lion of the Year for multiple years, Melvin Jones award, as well as appreciation awards for his dedication for chairing the Mardi Gras Parade and running the kitchen for Thursday night Bingo for multiple years. William was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Benedict Council 3061, Covington, LA since December 2001. He earned 2nd and 3rd Degree in February 2002, and becoming a 4th Degree of The Abbot Paul Assembly No. 334 in September 2002. William was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He enjoyed spending time with friends, family, fellow Lions, and Knights. He never met a stranger. He was an avid and dedicated Lion and Knight. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family and friends. William was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memoires of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.
