Willie C. "Kong" Smith Jr.

1951 - 2023

Willie C. Smith Jr. aka "Kong", 71, of Metairie, LA, transitioned into eternal rest on August 29, 2023. He was born October 11, 1951, to the late Willie C Smith Sr. and Velma Smith Bardell. Willie was a beloved father to Brandy Perrier, Brandon Perrier, and Grace Russell, as well as the stepfather to Nicky Franklin and Jimmy Franklin. He was the beloved brother of Donald Smith (Maxine Smith). He was a loving grandfather to Arthur Harris Jr., Samaya Butler, Leighton Perrier, Samad Butler "SL", and Lennox Perrier. He was also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Aurmon Harris and KaLehia Harris, and a host of nieces and nephews. Willie is resting peacefully now and will be missed by family and friends. Family and friends are invited to the homegoing celebration on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11 a.m. at New Generation Fellowship, 1000 Clay St, Kenner, LA 70062. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Viewing will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, from 3 pm – 6pm at Bardell's Mortuary, 3856 LA 44, Mt. Airy, LA 70076.
