ROGERS Yvonne Walsh Rogers on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Age 83 years. Beloved wife of the late Michael Rogers, Jr. Devoted Mother of Gary Rogers, Anne Rogers Schilly (Eddie), Kelly Rogers Jordan (Greg) and the late Michael Rogers, III and Kevin Rogers. Loving Grandmother of Chris Rogers (Jill), Jade Schilly, Paul Rogers (Krissy), Jonathan Rogers (Amber), Ryan Rogers, Kelsey Jordan, Allie Jordan, Shelby Jordan, Cole Rogers, Tylere Schilly, Victoria Rogers and the late Shaun Schilly. Great-grandmother of Ian Rogers, Ella Rogers, Halli Rogers, Paul Rogers, Jr., Gabe Schilly, Dayton Walters and Holland Walters. As one of ten children to the late Katherine and Leo Owen Walsh, Mrs. Rogers is also survived by her sister, Mary W. Ledet. She was a woman of strong faith, Member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, St. Jude Society, Parish Life Ministries and affiliated with many Women's Prayer Groups throughout the years, Nurses Registry, First Friday Mass Group, the Merry Magdalens, and also served as an ombudsman for St. Anthony's Nursing Home Group. Mrs. Rogers was a dedicated volunteer for Nurses Registry, Children's Advocacy Groups, and the WWII Museum. Her passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed exercising at the EJGH Wellness Center with her friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) with Father Bob Massett officiating on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
