Andrew Charles "Andy" Ring, age 85, of McClelland, IA, passed away at CHI Bergan Mercy Hospital, in Omaha, NE, on August 19, 2024.

He was born on November 19, 1938, to the late Frank R. and Rowena (Talty) Ring. Andy graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School, in Neola, IA. He married his greatest love, Saralee (Tiarks) Ring, on June 10, 1961, at St. Patrick's Church, Neola. Together they were blessed with three daughters, Jody Kennedy (Gary), Shelley Quick (Todd) and Diane Pierce (Jason); six grandchildren, Allison Andersen (Nate), Matthew Quick, Madeline Pierce, Ella Pierce (fiancé Mason Hamilton), Trey Quick, and Grace Pierce; and three great-grandchildren, Andy, Gray and Letty Andersen. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronnie Ring (Judy), Ben Ring (Callie); and sister, Frankie Tiarks; and brother-in-law, Harry Long; and his best bud Ted, the dog.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert (Verna), Dick (Berdine) Ring; sisters, Clare Delanty, Donna Stageman (Mark), Theresa Taylor (Orval), Martha Denning (Berno), Jeanette Long, Linda Ring; and brother-in-law, Aaron Tiarks.

Andy was a member of the McClelland Fire Dept for 25 plus years and the Chief for eight of those years, and a member of St Patrick's Catholic Church in Neola. He spent much of his life running Ring Transfer alongside his brother, Ben, in McClelland. After retirement, Andy's passion shifted to smaller equipment and multiple hobbies such as restoring Schwin bicycles, garden tractor pulling, and rebuilding multiple lawnmowers. You could find Andy many Saturday evenings watching Molly B and RFD tractor auctions. Wintering you would find Andy and Saralee in Queen Valley, AZ, enjoying the warm weather and many rounds of golf. He was always proud of his Hole in One at Quail Run in Neola.

Andy was a family man and loved Sunday dinners with the kids and grandchildren. Many knew Andy for his witty remarks and sense of humor. He would proudly tell stories about his family and trucking to anyone who would listen. He is going to be greatly missed by everyone who loved him.

Visitation: Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill. Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Neola. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Neola, followed by a luncheon at the St. Patrick Church Social Hall.
