Barry G. Smith passed away July 14, 2021. Survived by wife, Cynthia (Maddy) Smith; brother, Bernard C. Smith; sister-in-law, Wyona Smith; brother-in-law, Ed Gilmore and many nieces and nephews. Barry was preceded in death by parents, Bernard and Shirley Smith; sister, Linda Gilmore and brother, Bruce Smith. Barry led a very active life. After graduating from TJ in 1968 he attended aeronautics school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After graduating he moved back to Fremont, Ne where he attended Midland College. While in college, Barry worked loading boxcars for American Refrigerated Warehousing Co. He later became president of the company now called Freezer Services, a design-build distribution refrigerated warehousing company with facilities all over the country and employing several thousand people. Barry retired from Freezer Services in 1995 and began his own warehousing company in Crete, NE. Barry was an avid golfer and played many courses throughout the US and Scotland. He was also a street rod enthusiast and built show cars. He has won many awards for his cars at national car shows around the country. Barry will be sorely missed by his friends and family.
