Betty J. Andrei

1935 - 2023

Betty J. (Gilleland) Andrei, age 87, of Seminole, Fla., passed away peacefully, January 10, 2023, at Oak Manor Senior Living Community. Betty was born October 18, 1935, in Newton, Iowa, and was a hard working Iowa farm girl, one of six siblings to Marie and Frances Gilleland, of Elliott, Iowa. Betty worked and raised her children in Council Bluffs, before moving to Florida in the late 70's with her husband, Raymond, of 53 years. Betty enjoyed entertaining and loved cooking for her family. She always had a craft or decorating project planned. She enjoyed many vacations, both internationally and within the United States, but she loved spending time with family and friends most of all! Betty will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a friend to many. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Marie Gilleland; and 3 siblings. She is survived by husband, Raymond Andrei, of Seminole, Fla.; son, Daniel Kemp (Nancy), of Council Bluffs; daughter, Joni Shaw (Timothy), of Treasure Island, Fla.; 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who all refer to her affectionately as "Grandma B", a title she adored! Her face would light up whenever she heard that! A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later time. In leu of flowers please forward remembrances to family.
