April 15, 1940 - October 24, 2025

Connie M. Plumb, age 85, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 24, 2025, at Primrose Assisted Living. Connie was born April 15, 1940, in Griswold, IA, to the late John and Catherine "Caroline" (Lawson) Weston. She graduated from Griswold High School in 1957. Connie married Marion K. Plumb on June 6, 1959. They were blessed with four daughters, Lezli, Trisha, Sheila, and Rhonda. Connie worked for Council Bluffs Community Schools and Iowa School for the Deaf retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the over 50 Walking Club at Henry Doorly Zoo. Connie enjoyed baking and sewing, motorcycling, and dancing.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Marion in 2024; son-in-law, Lynn Bertelsen; brothers, Gerald, Cecil, Moyne, and Larry; sister, Shirley Doolittle. Connie is survived by her daughters, Lezli (Steve) Root of Lawrence, KS, Trisha (Nick) McGrain of Lenexa, KS, Sheila (Gary Bales) Bertelsen of Des Moines, IA, Rhonda (Robert) Casson of McClelland, IA; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Ferrie) Weston of Sherrard, IL, Roy (Nancy) Weston in NY, Doug (Linda) Weston of Audubon, IA; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family and luncheon, Thursday, Noon to 2 p.m., at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce St. Connie will be laid to rest with a private family graveside service in Hazel Dell Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hillcrest Hospice.
