Emmett Goos

1932 - 2021

Emmett C. Goos, age 89, passed away peacefully at Risen Son Christian Village August 10, 2021. He was born July 11, 1932, to the late Alfred and Etta (Engel) Goos in Council Bluffs, IA. Emmett graduated from Kemper Military Academy with the class of 1951, and then earned an associates degree there. He served in the United States Army. Emmett was a lifelong farmer and cattleman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Goos; stepdaughter, Cris Barrett; siblings, Clint Goos and Cleo Leet. Emmett is survived by his son, Eric Goos; daughter, Jane Duysen; stepson, Dan Buckelew (Julie); grandchildren, Sarah Duysen, Tommy Duysen, Allison VanMoorleghem (Mark), Michael Buckelew (Carolyn) and Ryan Buckelew; a host of other family and friends. Memorial visitation will be held from 10 to 12 p.m, at Zion Congregational Church in Treynor, Iowa, on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Graveside Service will be held at 12 p.m., in the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Zion Congregational Church.
