Frances Lydon, 101, of Council Bluffs, died Sunday, November 23, 2025. She was born June 28, 1924, in Adair, Iowa, to John and Mary McCarthy.
She was one of ten children. Frannie married Vincent Lydon in 1944, and they had three children, Mary Ann Yates (Fred), John Lydon (Helen), and Linda Sluyter (Ray). She taught school for 40 years. She volunteered at the VFW Post 737, and the Queen of Apostles Church.
She is survived by 2 sisters; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She will have a visitation on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. at the Chapel and will be followed by interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Memorials will be directed by the family.
