John Arthur Hansen, Council Bluffs native John Arthur Hansen, age 83, passed away at Jennie Edmundson Hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Judy (Arnold) and son John Richard Hansen. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Susan Arnold of Omaha, Mary (Paul) Bachman of LaVista and Shirley (Mike) Culp of Denver and their families. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation for the care John received at The Heritage at Fox Run Assisted Living, where he resided since March, 2021. And also to the doctors and staff at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. A memorial service will be held at St Paul United Methodist Church, Benson on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to KVNO radio at UNO, St. Paul United Methodist Church, Benson, or a charity of your choice.

I wish to extend my condolences following the passing of your beloved husband and father. My daughter Abi Shelbourn introduced me to John and Judy following a First Plymouth UCC service. John was knowledgeable and appreciative of the music we shared. We knew we were in the company of a talented church musician and gracious man. Praying that God will lift your spirits and carry you through this time of sadness.
