Kristie A. (Knudsen) Elliff, age 69, of Council Bluffs, passed away September 28, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Kristie was born September 23, 1956, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to the late Louie and Barb (Harter) Knudsen, and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School.
She met and married her high school sweetheart, Gary Elliff, on August 4, 1973.
Kristie was a homemaker. She and Gary were foster parents for 38 years, and she was a daycare provider for many years. Caring for children was her calling in life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kathleen Weatherill; and brothers, Daniel and Bobby Knudsen.
Survivors include husband, Gary Elliff; sons, Gary (Tobbie) Elliff, Tom Elliff, Jake Elliff, and David Elliff; daughters, Katie Brensel, Lanissa DeWindt, Tina (Zack) Poyser, and Cristy Elliff; grandchildren, Oakland Elliff, Sawyer Elliff, Brock Brensel, Ava Brensel, Alli Brensel, Blake Brensel, Torin Elliff, Tayla Elliff, Rowyn DeWindt, Arlo DeWindt, Beckham Elliff, and Ottilie Poyser; siblings, Patty (John) Hiffernan; sister-in-law, Lynn Knudsen; and brother-in-law, Tom Weatherill; and a host of other family members.
Visitation with the family, Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral service, Friday, 11 a.m., all at Cutler O'Neill Funeral Home. Burial in Ridgewood Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow, at 2425 McPherson Avenue.
