Peggie J. Caparelli, age 81, of Auburndale, FL, passed away January 21, 2024, in Lakeland, FL. Peggie was born November 13, 1942, in Council Bluffs to the late Archie and Inez (Bateman) Tietsort. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Peggie married Joseph Caparelli on February 14, 1981, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Council Bluffs. She worked in the banking industry in Council Bluffs and then in Tulsa, OK, before retiring to Florida two years ago. In addition to her mother and father, Peggie was preceded in death by her brothers, Lynn (1993), John (2011) and Earl (2015) Tietsort; and stepfather, Herb "Doc" Wilson. Peggie is survived by her husband of nearly 43 years, Joe Caparelli; five children, Lori (Carl) Wallace, Cindi Lidgett (Nick), Cheryl (Tim) Bain, Teresa (Jeffrey) Robertson, John (Stacy) Clark; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Rollie (Betsy) Tietsort; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family, Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service, Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the funeral home. A lunch will follow at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce St. The family will direct memorial contributions.
