Rinda Rothermund Obituary

Rinda Lee Rothermund, age 85, passed away August 9, 2025, at Midlands Living Center in Council Bluffs, IA.
Rinda was born February 10,1940, in Griswold, IA., to the late Herbert and Cordelia (Bierbaum) Kirchert.
She was united in marriage to Richard D. Rothermund on July 8, 1960. She retired from Woodman of the World after many years of service.
Rinda is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Cordelia and Herbert's second wife, Margaret Kirchert; husband, Richard in 2008; brothers, Marion and wife, Betty, Gail and wife, Mary, George and wife, Ramona, Raymond and wife, Phyllis; nephews, Randy, Allen and Dean; nieces, Theresa and Shelley.
Rinda leaves behind her son, Rod, of Council Bluffs; daughter, Rhonda Kjeldgaard, of Harrah, OK.; three grandchildren and spouses, Loraine Ross (Jason), Cathy Travis (Dean) and Michelle Kjeldgaard; four great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Courtney and Brooklyn Ross, Scarlett Dean; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation Saturday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by graveside service at Garner Township Cemetery, where she will be buried with husband Richard Rothermund.

I grew up on the block of 34th and 4th Avenue in CB. Rinda and Richard lived behind Vaughn and Helen Cooper, two houses down from my family´s house. Had lost track of them until she began working at WoodmenLife.
Rinda and Richard were such a nice couple.
