Kevin Lawson

1963 - 2025

Northfield - Kevin Glenwood Lawson, age 62, passed away peacefully with Jodi, Taylor, Bailey and John by his side, on Wednesday evening, September 24, 2025, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minnesota.

Kevin was born on June 4, 1963 to Roger and Ila "Sue" Lawson in Detroit, Michigan. The family moved to Minnesota in 1968, and Kevin spent his childhood on Circle Lake where he found his love of fishing and anything else that brought him to the water. He loved nothing more than being outdoors fishing and hunting, no matter the season.

Kevin graduated from Northfield High School in 1981 and went on to work for Fairway Foods in Northfield until 2000. Following that, he worked for Parson's Plumbing in Montgomery, Faribo Plumbing and Heating in Faribault, Matthew Daniels Plumbing in Rosemount, Corner Mart in Dundas, and The State of Minnesota in Faribault as a Corrections Officer where he retired in June, 2025 after 17 years.

Kevin married the love of his life, Jodi Adams, on May 19, 1990, in Northfield. They had the joy of raising two beautiful daughters, Taylor and Bailey. He was a devoted husband and father. Kevin had many wonderful qualities. He was an incredible listener and story teller; always so patient with his girls as they were growing up and in adulthood while responding to their countless questions about home repairs. He was always willing to help someone with a project. He loved to work with his hands repairing and building things, but what he loved most was casting a fishing line and reeling his catch in. He will be incredibly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jodi; his daughters, Taylor of Minneapolis, Bailey and husband John Baumgardner of Minneapolis; his mother, Ila "Sue" Lawson of Northfield; his sister Karen Lawson of Northfield; his sisters-in-law, Mitzi (George), Lisa, Jeri, Holly; and brother-in-law, Sean (Cicily); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Roger Lawson, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Karleene and Jerry Adams and brother-in-law Larry Vasbinder.

A celebration of Kevin's life will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at The Grand Event Center of Northfield from 3:00PM to 6:00PM with a few words from his family and friends at 4:00PM. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Cannon River Outdoors Club.
