To the Blakely Family;
Rev Blakley and Shiloh have been apart of my life since I can remember, I grew up in the church. 265 Hamilton Ave, then 55 Park Ave, those memories will always be dear to me. My mother Harriet, made it her business to keep my self, sister and brother in the church,and in the arms of God.
Rev. Blakely will be missed by many, but never forgotten.
With my deepest sympathy,
Carolyn Merritt-James.

Words cannot express what Rev. Blakely means to me. He and Mrs. Blakely were considered a part of my family since before I was born. Rev. Blakely was like a grandfather to me. He was always a willing teacher and a caring person who told me that he expected great things from me. I would not know much of what I know today about Christianity and the soul if he had not been so close to us. His passing is so difficult for me because I never stopped calling him "my pastor." I take comfort in seeing, first-hand, how very many lives he's dearly touched, how many paths he carved out for the men of the cloth that he believed in, and that he is truly receiving a well-earned rest. I will live the rest of my life knowing that he was proud of me and that he was instrumental in my deep duty to serve the people, no matter what. No one was more versed and knowledgable about traditions, the Word, and the fundmentals of Christian ministry. I can never forget where I came from. I will always love the self-titled Bishop *smile* Alfred Blakely and Mrs. Elizabeth Blakely.

I have known Rev. Blakely for more than 35 years. I attended the Shiloh Day Care, was a member of his church, he baptized me and performed my marriage ceremony. I left New Jersey in 1993 and even after I left, I still considered him to be my Pastor. No other Pastor compared to him. He was very smart and always trying to help everyone with anything. I will never forget him, and I am blessed to have know him. I will keep the Blakely family in my prayers.

I shall never forget Rev. Blakely. I have known and revered him for my entire life, having attended the Shiloh Day Care Center some 35 years ago. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Blakely family.
