Alfred...As a professional model, you were the second designer that gave me the opportunity to work for you. Carolina Herrera was the first. I will FOREVER be grateful for your guidance and kindness.

I was shocked to learn of Alfred's sudden passing. I had an opportunity to speak to him a few years ago when my daughter, who grew up on Lowell Rd, was planning her wedding. He was never shy about his roots no matter who he was dealing with or where.
Just an aside at last count there are over 45 members of my extended family who owe their lives to Dr. Sabia.

I have such wonderful memories of playing dress-up in the shop on Maverick St. when I was a little girl. When I grew up and was planning my wedding, you designed my wedding dress. It was a dream come true. I will cherish these memories forever and remember you always.

Alfred was inspiring, humble and sincerely interested in making the world a better place through his efforts. One of his personal works in progress was collaboration with the Dupuytren Foundation. This effort will continue in your memory, but Alfred, you are greatly missed.

I was so fortunate to be able to not only model for such a gifted man - but to have been in rooms when he created! His smile, his wit and his creations should go down in history with other famous artists. I was blessed to have worked with him for so many years! God be with his loved ones at this sad time.

I was so sad to learn of Alfred's passing last week. True to Alfred's wide range of connections all over planet, the network has passed the news on to a great collection of friends in and out of the clothing industry. I send heartfelt condolences to Carl, Michelle, and Alfred, jr.
I am truly saddened and missing a dear friend, mentor and boss.

I was Alfred's accountant for over 20 years. He was a true gentleman and a delight. He was kind and deferential, and above all, humble. I will miss him greatly.
