Alice Yazmajian Obituary

YAZMAJIAN Alice, age 86 died Mon., Jan. 24th. Born in Paterson she resided in Clifton most of her life. Alice was a homemaker, active member and volunteer at St. Leon's Armenian Church, Fair Lawn who enjoyed cruising the globe with husband Leon and cooking Armenian meals for family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Leon, brother Harry Sahatjian Jr. and sister Isabel Ghizzoni surviving are nieces and nephews Jeff Ghizzoni, Lisa McGahren, Robert Ghizzoni, Charles Edwards, Lynn Lueders and Richard Sahatjian. Visitation at Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main St., Lincoln Pk. is Friday 2-4 PM and at St. Leon's, 12-61 Saddle River Rd., Fair Lawn 7-9 PM. Service 10 AM Sat., Jan. 29 at church followed by interment in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to St. Leon's would be greatly appreciated.

I go back to the days in Paterson, where we attended St Leon Armenian Church.In recent years, Alice would sit in the church pew right in front of me. After service, she would always ask about my wife(before she inquired about me!)Then, we would go back to telling stories from Bloomfield Avenue in Paterson.Kind, gentle and a volunteer who contributed much in her life.
