Andrew Lupo Obituary

LUPO Andrew Thomas, 76, of Paramus, NJ died on September 1, 2008. Born in Brooklyn, New York on January 15, 1932, Andy was the only child of Salvatore Lupo and Mary Silvano. After receiving his High School Education in Brooklyn, Andy served his country for 4 years in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After returning to the United States, Andy, using skills obtained during his military service, obtained employment with the Grumman Corporation as an aircraft mechanic. Soon thereafter he met Ann Gubitosa and the two were married in Brooklyn on January 25, 1958. Following the birth of their son Andrew, Jr. in November 1959 Andy took a position with the Long Island Railroad in 1961. He held several positions during his employment with the Long Island Railroad, participated in numerous training courses and ultimately, at the time of his retirement in 1989, he held the position of Electrician where his main responsibility was the maintenance of the speed control safety systems of the trains of the Long Island Railroad system. During their lives together Andy and Ann lived in Central Islip, New York, Bennington, Vermont, and Manchester, New Jersey. Most recently, since August 2007, the pair had made Brighton Gardens of Paramus their home. With his passing, Andy leaves his wife of 50 years, Ann, his son, Andrew, Jr. and his daughter-in-law Andrea. If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the memory of Andy Lupo to the American Diabetes Association.
